ABOUT THE DUTCHESS
The Dutchess is a 252-acre property in the heart of the New York Hudson Valley. It is a stunning refuge that makes you realize how sweet air tastes, albeit at only 90 minutes from NYC. Though it boasts a sweeping landscape of streams, fresh water lakes, farm, forest, and hiking trails, it is only moments away from the village of Rhinebeck, NY. From contemporary art galleries to one of the oldest inns in America, Rhinebeck strikes the perfect balance between hip & historic. Well known for the locavore food movement, this pocket of the Hudson Valley quietly lures artists and foodies, making it a culinary & visual playground for those in the know.
AUTHENTICALLY APPOINTED ROOMS
Each room is individually designed with soothing colors & textures that reflect the essence of the Dutchess experience: simple, real & superior quality. Sourced from unique antique farms from around the world, each piece & every room tells a story. From tub to linens, every detail thoughtfully weaves into your idyllic stay at the Dutchess.
FARE
A farm-to-everything concept, the Dutchess combines the scenic beauty of the countryside with food sourced from its own organic biodynamic farm & neighbors. The inspiring menu is entirely driven by the seasons, pulling out the richest flavors from each harvest. This retreat’s culinary experience is exceptional. Far more than merely matching the needs of our physical days, the food will romance you with its artistry and flavor. Food & the pleasure of eating is as much a part of the Dutchess experience as our movement it energizes.
YOGA + DANCE
Each day will have both a yoga & dance class. You choose how vigorous a schedule you want to have for your retreat. Classes are for ALL levels, both in yoga & dance. This retreat gives you the luxury of time to truly indulge in the experience of the class, ask questions, learn fundamentals & marinate in the joy of success.

frequently asked questions
+ What are the dates for this retreat this year?
Thursday May 28th - Sunday May 31st, 2020
+ What is included?
The trip is all inclusive of accommodations, on-site food, dance + yoga/meditation classes, taxes and gratuities. Transportation and any alcohol at resort is not included. There are optional experiences that you may choose to add on (spa, going into local village of Rhinebeck). We try to keep cost down by allowing you to create the experience you desire. You decide to keep it simple or amplify it, choosing as much as you like once you arrive at The Dutchess.
+ I am accustomed to marble tubs & white glove service when I vacation. Is this retreat offering that?
Nope. The Dutchess prides itself on the art of hospitality. Simplicity & beauty are the foundation of your experience. You should need for nothing and feel totally cared for, in just the right way.
+ How does payment work?
All payments are non-refundable. In some cases, payment is transferable & decision is at the discretion of retreat organizers. We aim to be as fair as possible. You will reserve your spot on one of the retreats with a $500 non-refundable deposit. The balance of your payment is due by March 31st, 2020.
+ When do classes begin/end on the retreat?
First class is Thursday evening. Last official class is Sunday morning.
+ Do I need to have taken your/other dance class before? Do I need to know how to dance or practice yoga?
Nope. I love meeting brand new people who think they do not know how to dance or practice yoga. Yes, some people who come on retreats with me have been taking class for a little to a long time. But equally, there are cousins, college roommates, mothers, sisters, brothers from different parts of the world-- all of whom come together to experience these retreats. It's life-busting-at-the-seams amazing.
+ Is this really for ALL levels?
Yup. This retreat is for YOU. You have the time and space to learn, ask questions & get it. I personally welcome ALL levels. You will be astounded at how much you get it & grow in just 4 days. If you've never taken a yoga class, maybe google "basic 20 yoga poses". Or don't & learn with us on the retreat. We got you.
+ Do I have to take every class?
Nope. This retreat is for YOU. It is not a bootcamp. It is not a detox. It is not a upstate NY deprivation, slimming chamber. No one cares about how you look in your yoga/dance gear. There are no mirrors in our studio. If you want to make it a detox, go for it. But the intention of this experience is to live fully. To pause from your life and experience wholly everything you are eating, drinking, feeling, sweating, dancing, meditating, discovering, nurturing and most of all, living. It is an opportunity to tap into what YOU need. Some people wake for sunrise meditation and attend every class. Some sleep in one day. Some do mostly dance, some do mostly yoga. Most do most of everything. Some realize they've lost a couple pounds. Some choose The Dutchess fresh herbed handcrafted cocktails post class while others choose water. You make it as rigorous and full of activity or as non-rigorous and tuck-away-walk-through-the-streams as you like. Regardless of your retreat-style, you will return to your life different, renewed, cleared...lived.
